V. Rev. Corbishop Auchana Kanoun serves the community of Mar Gewargis (Saint George the Great Martyr) parish in Ceres, CA. As corbishop, he has the added ministry of serving His Grace Mar Awa and the brotherhood of priests of the Diocese of California as a senior brother among his fellow priests and in assistence to our bishop.

Born on July 8, 1947 to his parents Shamso Kanoun and Helen Youkhanna in Tal Arbosh , Syria.
He studied at Redemptorist  Seminary from 1957 through 1958 in Beirut, Lebanon.  After having received The Bacaloriate in 1966, he became an Arabic Teacher till February 1969.
On March 1969, he traveled to France to continue his studies in French language and its literature. From 1969 – 1973 he received “Diplome Superieur D’etudes Francaises Modernes” from the University of Paris viii and Alliance Francaise Institute.   The High Diploma of French Modern  Studies. 
1982 he was ordained Deacon by HG Claudio Veterazo in Jonkoping, Sweden.
1986, November 9, he was ordained Priest by His Beatitude Mar Narsai De Baz, Jonkoping, Sweden.

2009 he was ordained Cor-Bishop by H G Bishop Mar Awa Royel.
